Marina doing a handstand at JFK

Waiting at JFK for the flight to Iceland.

Sleep deprived but stalwart, we hied to the Blue Lagoon straight from the airport in Keflavík.

The blue appearance is a product of the reflection of the silica in the water. It also makes ones hair crispy. Russell was unaware that this experience was a spa day, a first for both Russell and Marina. There were facials and all participated.

Perhaps too relaxed, we made it safely, after a stop for groceries, to our place in Reykjavík, a cozy home in a lovely location. We napped and then explored the local environs in the rain, including the nearby Hallgrimskirkja church, before finding a comfy Indian restaurant for dinner.

That’s Leif Erikson between the women and the church.

Here’s hoping that our naps don’t debar a good night’s sleep!
